Biography:

Dr. Sayanti Banerjee is an India-based physician and diabetologist actively working in the field of diabetes prevention, early detection, metabolic disease management, and community-based healthcare delivery in underserved and resource-limited populations. She is the Founder and Clinical Lead of Quest Diabetic Clinic & Diagnostic Centre, a dedicated diabetes and metabolic care centre established in Asansol, West Bengal, India.

Dr. Banerjee holds an MBBS degree along with advanced professional training in Diabetes and Clinical Endocrinology, including CCEBDM and Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Endocrinology & Diabetes (RCP-UK affiliated), along with PGDFM from CMC Vellore. Her clinical work primarily focuses on Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, obesity, insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome, MASLD (Metabolic Dysfunction Associated Steatotic Liver Disease), hypertension, thyroid disorders, diabetic neuropathy, and preventive metabolic healthcare.

Over the years, she has been actively involved in developing a sustainable community-oriented diabetes care model aimed at bridging the healthcare gap in semi-urban and rural populations. Through screening programs, awareness initiatives, early intervention strategies, lifestyle counselling, and long-term patient engagement, her work has contributed to improving diabetes detection and management among underserved communities in Eastern India.

Dr. Banerjee has independently led and participated in multiple observational and real-world clinical studies focusing on diabetes epidemiology, sedentary lifestyle-associated metabolic disorders, early diabetes detection, MASLD prevalence among individuals with Type 2 Diabetes, and healthcare accessibility challenges in tier-2 and semi-urban regions.

She is a member of several national and international professional organizations, including:
• Research Society for the Study of Diabetes in India (RSSDI)
• International Diabetes Federation (IDF)
• Indian Podiatry Association
• ACDA (Asansol Coalfield Diabetes Association)

Her academic interests include preventive diabetology, lifestyle medicine, metabolic liver disease, digital diabetes awareness, and implementation of community-based chronic disease management systems in developing healthcare settings.

Dr. Banerjee is committed to integrating compassionate clinical care with evidence-based practice and public health advocacy, with a vision to make quality diabetes care more accessible, affordable, and sustainable for vulnerable populations.

Dr. Sayanti Banerjee's research interests include preventive diabetology, metabolic disease management and community-based healthcare approaches for diabetes and endocrine disorders, particularly in underserved and resource-limited populations. Dr. Sayanti Banerjee is especially interested in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, obesity, insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome, MASLD (Metabolic Dysfunction Associated Steatotic Liver Disease), hypertension, thyroid disorders and diabetic neuropathy. Her academic and clinical research focuses on early diabetes detection, lifestyle-associated metabolic disorders, preventive healthcare strategies and sustainable chronic disease management systems. She is also actively engaged in research related to lifestyle medicine, digital diabetes awareness, public health advocacy and improving healthcare accessibility in semi-urban and rural communities through evidence-based and patient-centered approaches.
